THE FIRST

“The First” documentary series show the interviews with the best-known Russian women, who we prefer to address to only as “the fist”. These are the stories of the outstanding women of our time told first-hand. Hear the great women’s revelations about their time, people and themselves.

According to the project’s authors Artur Valeyev and Lubov Kamyrina, the well-known journalists, “The First” is the collection of portraits against the background of time, which they made in home atmosphere with friends and loved ones around instead of pompous interior. It helped to have a fresh “home” look at the grandeur heroines of their epoch. For the first time in their careers, they openly discussed their paths to success, glory and recognition, love and betrayal as well as things, which worry and irritate them today.

The series include sixteen films-monologues. Among the heroines there are the first woman-astronaut Valentina Tereshkova, the first Soviet woman- oncologist Sofia Daryalova, the first people’s artists of the USSR Nani Bregvadze, Tamara Sinyavskaya, Maya Plisetskaya, Edyta Piecha, the first opera diva Elena Obraztsova, the first woman-politician Irina Khakamada, the writer Victoria Tokareva, the film director Svetlana Druzhinina, the coach Tatyana Tarasova, the stylist Dolores Kondrashova, the broadcaster Anna Shatilova and many others.

The team shot their stories in different circumstances. Naturally, they went to the heroines’ homes. Tamara Ilyinichna Sinyavskaya gave her interview in the home country of her husband - the great singer Muslim Magomayev; that day there was the opening ceremony of his monument. Elena Obraztsova was interviewed at her home in the Moscow Region, Nani Bragvadze – in Tblilisi. The authors of this documentary cared for no time or distance to shoot their stars in comfortable, extremely warm family atmosphere, where their husbands, children and other relatives could also share their views of them…
