This is a documentary about the unique
gift and hard lot of the blind paralyzed village girl named Matryona, who
dedicated her life to serving to people.
The Intercession (Pokrovskiy) Monastery in Moscow has inexhaustible flow of people at any weather on week days and holidays. Hundreds of women come here to kiss St. Matryona’ relics hoping for a miracle. Their miracles come true! Even more than 60 years past her death, the Blessed Matryona of Moscow still satisfies any request: hopeless patients get cured, childless women have children etc.
Matryona predicted the Russian revolution, the victory of the USSR in the Second World War and its collapse. Her predictions and talents are wide-known, but Matryona’s biography has always been a mystery. The audience will have a chance to make sure, that her predictions concerning the past and the future of Russia and other countries came true. They will also learn some unknown facts about the “miracle worker’s” life.
Who, in fact, was the great prophet? What did she have to pay for her gift? Why is her name still associated with a miracle, even many years past, and why did the Orthodox Сhurch canonize her?
