The major character of the story is a police investigator Larisa Voitovich, whose fiancé Egor Rayevsky (Maxim Averin) surrendered to the charms of her friend five years ago and died a tragic death a few days later. She could hardly put up with her loss and turn over a new leaf, when her old friend Yulia Sokolova suddenly appeared like a jack in the box. She begged Larisa to forget hard feelings and become partners, but it is not easy for Voitovich to overcome her antipathy. Meanwhile the case of Egor’s death takes a sudden turn.
